Faster meal swaps and recipe browsing
We've sped up loading for meal swap suggestions and the recipe chooser, and reduced the data our recipe library needs to load.
Released
On October 27, 2026, we shipped faster loading for Gyna’s meal swaps and recipe chooser, along with a lighter data-loading path for the recipe library.
What’s faster when I swap a meal?
We’ve removed repeated processing that was slowing down meal swap suggestions and the recipe chooser. Meal-plan members can spend less time waiting when looking for a different meal.
In production checks of the shared meal-planning service, we recorded a 372 ms server response for meal swap suggestions and a 257 ms server response for the recipe chooser after the fixes. Earlier recorded meal-swap requests had taken 6–18 seconds.
These are individual server measurements from October 27, rather than average page-load times. The time you see on screen also includes your connection and device rendering.
What changed in the recipe library?
The recipe library now reads small, prepared fields to display calorie details on recipe cards. It no longer needs to open larger recipe records for those details. We haven’t yet measured a comparable before-and-after page-load time for the library itself.
Where can I use it?
Open your meal plan and choose a meal to swap. You can browse the suggestions or select Search all recipes to find another option.
You can also go straight to the recipe library. The server improvements are already in place; there’s no setting to turn on.
